At the August monthly meeting of the department, the firefighters installed some new signs on the station. The firefighters of The Hart Area Fire Department are "paid on call' employees. That means they are on the clock whenever they are called out on an emergency call.

The Hart Area Fire Administrative Board plans to purchase the fire station from the city in order to make capital improvements, according to Hart City Manager Rob Splane.The city has agreed to sell the building located on State Street to the fire board for $1.

The Hart Area Fire Department is happy to welcome 3 new firefighters to our ranks. Kyle Dillingham, Grant Boring, and Alex Hardy have finish the fire academy and passed all their tests to become State of Michigan certified firefighters.

The Hart Area Fire Department is happy to have received two new suits for use in ice rescue situations. Thank you to Clancy Aerts for purchasing one of the ice rescue suits. The suits are Firstwatch RS-1000 Ice Rescue suits that are made for cold water and ice rescue operations.

On 10/30/2020 we responded to a home in Silver Lake for an odor investigation. The occupants of the home reported smelling smoke in the bedroom. We found this brand name charger plugged into an outlet and the off-brand phone cord melted to the carpet.
